Tachycardia
Expert Care for Rapid Heart Rates
Tachycardia is defined as a resting heart rate of over 100 beats per minute. When the heart beats too fast, it cannot pump blood efficiently to the rest of the body, which can lead to lightheadedness or more serious complications.
Common Types
Sinus Tachycardia
Usually a normal response to exercise, stress, or fever, originating from the heart's natural pacemaker.
Atrial (SVT)
Rapid heartbeats originating in the upper chambers, often causing sudden "bouts" of palpitations.
Ventricular (VT)
A more serious rhythm starting in the lower chambers. Requires immediate medical evaluation.
